CPD 15

The KS AUDIO CPD 15 is the powered version of the legendary 2-way active system T 4 with the best performance in linearity and sound pressure level.

It maintains a high level of power even in the bass range, and the 2” driver with 4” voice coil is unsurpassed in sound neutrality and low distortion. With the heavy-duty voice coils, the 12” chassis has a continuous output of 1000W and the 2” driver 140W - peak power can be more than 2kW.

With KS AUDIO’s own developed FIR filters, the T 4 was the system that started the success of their FIRTEC™ system. With this technology filters are created in the digital domain so there is no deterioration of the impulse response. These filters also give the CPD 15 its superior sound.

The design and dispersion of the horn is very even over the full frequency spectrum. The electronic adjustment of the HF wavefront to the bass-midrange speaker results in a vertical curvature of the entire wavefront, which is also continued

in the crossover frequency range and does not show any dips there. With the usual positioning of the loudspeaker the listener in the near field is provided with as good a sound as those at a greater distance.

Both the 12′′ Long dispersion woofer and the 2′′ compression driver have strong but light Neodymium-Magnets. The 4′′ membrane of the compression driver consists of a special material that has a clearly reduced distortion factor in comparison to a titanium membrane. With the CPD 15, KS AUDIO has responded to the demanding needs of the professional user with a modular 2-way sound system with the highest audio quality, yet in a compact size.

There are many applications in which the CPD 15 can be used: Theatre, Live-stage Music, in large rooms or tents, as a delay system for far field, or as a compact top in combi- nation with any KS subwoofer, we recommend the CPD W2 sub.

As standard, the CPD 15 is supplied with a 90° x 40° dispersion, but on request it can also be supplied with a 60° x 40° dispersion, in which case, of course, other presets for the FIRTEC™ DSP are included.

The rear mounted, separately housed, 2-way PWM + MOSFET Controller /amplifier operates without the need of a cooling fan thus avoiding the typical fan noise found in most amplifiers.

The electronically balanced analog in/out and AES/EBU section is equipped with XLR F+M connectors. The unit is controlled via digital rotary knob, menu configuration shown on LCD graphic display. All adjusted levels, filters, and delay- settings are permanently saved.

Once more KS AUDIO presents an improvement: Audio Over Ethernet direct from your console or PC into the
active loudspeaker via DANTE™ option! Furthermore, every Loudspeaker can be addressed to an adjustable IP address, and over the same network all functions of the system can be monitored and controlled via KS AUDIO REMOTE software.

The speaker cabinet construction is, like all KS systems, built from birch plywood with an extremely robust charcoal colored Polyurethane coating. At your request the finish can be changed to any desired color from the RAL color charts.
