The subwoofer for the demanding ears!

The construction is classic, 1 × 15′′ – and the design of the highest quality.

What makes the CPD W1 special is, on the one hand the high-capacity long-excursion speaker with 100mm voice coil and fiber-reinforced membrane, and on the other hand, the construction of the waveguide for frequencies in the range of 40Hz: the diameter of the bass-reflex openings is particularly large, which results in a high degree of efficiency and low distortion levels due to minimal losses at the vent openings.

The slim format of the CPD W1 makes it especially suitable for applications where little space is available on the stage, or where it must be integrated into a wall niche or a stage- portal. Several CPD W1 can also be used to create an unobtrusive sub array at the front edge of the stage or as an end-fire array to the left and right of the stage.

Two CPD W1 stacked on top of each other with a connecting pole (M20) in between provide a stable base for a CPD 10 and CPD 12 full-range loudspeaker. Incidentally, the combination of three CPD W1 subwoofers -cardioid - as the bass extention for a CPD 22 full-range speaker is a dream PA.

The power module of the CPD W1 consists of a switched- mode power supply with Power-Factor-Correction, A powerful Class D amplifiers provide 1.000Wrms (1.8kW peak) to the 15” chassis.

The digital DSP is equipped with IIR filters that are precisely tuned and measured on the bass driver and its enclosure as a complete system. The filter controls; cross-over modes, frequency curve and limiter.

The CPD W1 can easily be adjusted to the room via the digital operating menu on the back or remotely via KS AUDIO own software.

There are 2 symmetrical inputs provided with XLR3 M+F. When used as a mono subwoofer, with summation of both channels, the stereo signal remains available on the outputs. Depending on the used MH loudspeaker, the crossover frequency and the correct time alignment can be adjusted.

Another special feature is the automatic recognition and changeover of a pending digital audio signal according to AES/EBU standard or using the Ethercon DANTE™ protocol.

Apart from the power switch, the following additional control elements are available: buttons for "input sensitivity" for individual adjustment to the location and the rest of the speaker system, for delay settings in m and ms, various low-pass filters and selection of the digital audio channel. Switching between analogue and digital inputs is automatic. The settings are clearly legible on the display.

Further settings, such as a parametric equalizer, can be downloaded and saved via integrated Ethernet switch by the KS REMOTE software.

The sturdy protective grille extends over the entire front and is largely "invisible" with acoustic foam. A transport protection cover is available as an accessory. The surface has a PU coating that can withstand almost any stress. There are 4 large swivel castors on the back for easy transport.

As in all KS AUDIO loudspeakers, the cabinet construction is made of birch multiplex and has a very durable PU coating. M20 threaded stand flange, stacking feet, a solid speaker grill with foam are further features of this quality product.
