CPD 1M

The CPD 1M complements the KS CPA series of active self-powered systems with its extremely compact wedge format and low weight. The sound pressure is exceptionally high and even right down to the low frequencies. The DSP Controller uses FIR filter technology for accurate impulse response of the loudspeakers and it also minimises feedback. Two integrated amplifiers provide 400W of power to the 10” chassis and 40W to the 1” driver - the peak power is 800W!

The sound path in the mid-/high-range horn is designed for the usual operation as a floor monitor. Due to the square installation dimension, however, it is also possible to mount the speaker rotated by 90°. In this case, the CPD 1M can also be used on stands as a universal full-range loudspeaker.

The power electronics include a “cold” PWM output stage for the low-midrange chassis and an analogue bipolar output stage with best audio properties for the high frequency driver.

The 10” long excursion chassis has a very powerful light- weight neodymium magnet. The 1” driver uses a 1.75” ring diaphragm made of Mylar which produces significantly less distortion than comparable titanium diaphragms.

With the CPD 1M, KS offers the demanding professional user an active stage monitor and full-range loudspeaker that can be used universally of particularly high quality and that is also very compact.

As with all KS systems, the enclosure construction is made of birch multiplex and has an extremely robust anthracite-co- loured PU coating. On request, the surface can be painted in any RAL colour. Other features of this high-quality product include a high stand flange and a steel protective grille with or without acoustic foam.

The 2-way DSP controller amplifier built into the rear ope- rates with very high efficiency and requires no cooling fan. The FIR frequencies and filter stages are precisely tuned to the speakers, and limiters ensure safe operation.

The electronically balanced input is designed as XLR F+M sockets. In addition to the power switch, there are further operating elements: A digital level control for individual adjustment to the location and an internal delay with a delay time of 0 to 40m.

The power supply unit of the CPD 1M works with internal changeover on AC mains of 117 or 230 V. The inrush current is electronically limited. The connection is made via a PowerCon connector.
